Downtown St. Pete is known to locals as “The Berg.” When it comes to city life by the Bay, it's hard to beat the Berg. The lucky residents have every convenience and activity at their doorstep. Life in the Berg is all about convenience and luxury. The locals are always chatting about what to do next, and there is never a shortage of activities. Phrases heard in the Berg include:

When's the gallery opening? When is the next ball game? When are we going Fishing? When is the parade? When's the concert? When is the Famers Market? When is the Grand Prix? What's the name of that new restaurant? Let's go to the rooftop deck and watch the sailboats. You get it — they have all the activities you could want.

The dream-life here in the Berg has it all: tropical weather, active city life, convenience, and style. The cityscape is set along Tampa Bay, the gateway to the Gulf of Mexico. You will love all the good vibes this city is throwing down, and you can't help but fall in love with the soul of this waterfront paradise. Active and laid back at the same time, downtown St. Pete is the ultimate host. It knows when to let you rest and when to turn up the good times. The Art Scene

You can't talk about the Berg without mentioning the art scene. From the moment you arrive, you will feel the creative energy that embraces the city. The Berg is home to 10 museums, with the Salvador Dali being the most notable. The Salvador Dali Museum is a work of art itself. The dome glass building is sure to leave a lasting impression against the backdrop of Tampa Bay. The Dali is open to the public year-round. Stop by and get inspired for your next art project. We all have to start somewhere; why not with the best?

You can even host your own events at the Dali. Rent the entire museum and throw the most epic wedding or graduation party. From the Dali to local artist murals displayed throughout the community, you will feel the creative vibes surrounding you as you explore downtown. Oh, is it getting hot here, or are you just blowing glass? The Berg has something special for those that want to see the artist at work. The Morean Glass Studio lets you in on the creative process. Marvel at the hot glass blown into objects of desire in front of your eyes.

The drivers and teams take over the city, and it's so cool to see the race cars throughout the city before the races. This speed-driven party is fun for the whole family.

Throwing a fastball your way — downtown is home to the Tampa Bay Rays baseball franchise. Catch a ball game and some rays at the stadium. Get on those running shoes, St. Pete. Run Fest is all about healthy living and fast fun. The 10k event hosted by Rolling Oaks combines our love of good tunes, healthy running, and craft beer. Feel the love in St. Pete. This event is raising money for St. Pete Free Clinic Food Bank.

Parks with Perks

Beach Drive, Baby! This gorgeous stretch of prime waterfront is home to the Historic Vinoy Hotel, restaurants, parks, upscale boutiques, and a few very lucky residents. It's the best place to enjoy the waterfront parks. Watching the planes flying into Albert Whitted Airport and the sailboats coming into the marina is a feast for the senses. Parks and nature are a big part of downtown St. Pete's appeal: city life with plenty of green space and that wonderful sea breeze. The Berg makes the most of every park by hosting events for the community. The weekly farmer's market is a great way to sample fresh, locally grown produce. You'll find the ultimate local experience at Localtopia, an annual local market bonanza with over 300+ local vendors and live music. Vinoy Park on the waterside is host to concerts, movies in the park, and festivals. Pet and people friendly, you can't help but notice all the finely groomed pups walking the streets in Downtown St. Pete. These pampered pooches are welcomed, and the retailers even put out water and biscuits for our four-legged family members.
